Principal Shaq Dixon proudly leads the Astronauts at Austin Elementary School. His educational journey began as a Special Education paraprofessional and has included roles as a teacher, assistant principal, and interim principal. Mr. Dixon earned bachelor’s degrees in English and Political Science from East Carolina University and a Master of Public Administration from the University of Houston. He was honored as Fort Bend ISD Teacher of the Year and a Region 4 Teacher of the Year Finalist and is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Educational Leadership at Texas Tech University. Mr. Dixon is committed to creating a positive, student-centered environment where students thrive holistically, develop a love for learning, and experience meaningful opportunities that prepare them for success both in and beyond the classroom.
